Janae Ernst

Instructor, RYT 200

Janae Ernst began her yoga journey in 2004. The effect it had on her was subtle, but over time she noticed a tangible shift in her perspective and her ability to handle situations. She found a sense of freedom and personal growth from the focus on mindfulness in yoga, and she continues to be inspired daily by what yoga teaches her about herself, the world, and the intimate connection between the two. Janae’s goal is to encourage students to live deeply and shine brightly, knowing that many of the answers they seek lie within themselves. She is excited to share her passion and knowledge to help students on their journey of becoming themselves and experiencing life in a most true and authentic way.♥

Janae completed her 100-hour training with Amazing Yoga in Costa Rica and pursued her 200-hour certification with Prairie Yoga in Lisle, IL in 2012. She is an active mentor in the yoga teacher training program at Prairie, and she works to broaden her scope and knowledge with continuing education in areas of prenatal yoga, therapeutics, and yoga for seniors. She draws inspiration for her matwork classes from alternate fitness modalities, blending traditional yoga asana with mindful, breath-linked variations of Pilates, calisthenics, and toning exercises. Outside of yoga, she holds a master’s degree in physics and works as a senior scientific associate in the Chemical and Materials Science group at Argonne National Laboratory.
