{"id":1423,"date":"2017-02-19T00:11:00","date_gmt":"2017-02-19T00:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.just-breatheyoga.com\/?page_id=1423"},"modified":"2017-02-19T00:11:00","modified_gmt":"2017-02-19T00:11:00","slug":"class-expectations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.just-breatheyoga.com\/2017\/classes\/class-expectations\/","title":{"rendered":"Class Expectations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>No experience or extraordinary flexibility is required.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hydrate before and after class.<\/strong>\u00a0 It is best to limit drinking during class\u00a0as this disrupts the upward flow of energy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Avoid eating a large meal 2-3 hours before class.<\/strong>\u00a0 Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please arrive prior to class, gather your props and settle in.<\/strong>\u00a0 If you are late, please wait until after opening meditation to enter the practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remove your shoes<\/strong>\u00a0<em>before entering the practice area<\/em>.\u00a0 This is an Eastern custom and\u00a0<em>keeps the floor clean for practice<\/em>.\u00a0Yoga is practiced in bare feet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Place your shoes, purses, mat bags in the closet to keep the practice area clean.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Practice peacefulness.<\/strong>\u00a0 No cell phones.\u00a0 Please leave them in your car.\u00a0This is time to focus on yourself.\u00a0 Speak quietly while in the studio, both before and after class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yoga is an internal practice, so chatting during class is minimal.<\/strong>\u00a0 Feel free to visit or ask the instructor questions after class.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please inform your instructor\u00a0<em>before<\/em>\u00a0class of pregnancy, injury, illness, or special needs that may affect your practice.<\/strong>\u00a0 This allows the instructor to provide you with modifications and the appropriate adjustments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Follow the instructions that your are given for the asana.<\/strong>\u00a0 Do not take the pose farther than instructed.\u00a0 If you need a break, please rest on your mat until you feel ready to join the class.\u00a0 Please practice the pose being taught.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Listen to your body<\/strong>\u00a0and avoid over stretching or straining.\u00a0 Yoga is non-competitive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t skip savasana.<\/strong>\u00a0 Final resting pose (savasana) is an important part of your practice.\u00a0 If you must leave early, save some time for a short rest, and leave class quietly before savasana to avoid disturbing others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No experience or extraordinary flexibility is required.
